Screeching white chalk
teacher's drone talk
history class in motion;
focus now lost
paper bin-tossed
the students don't have a notion.
Jarred wide awake
for pity's sake
teacher quite frustrated;
pulling his hair
he does despair
that his students will not be rated.

Well done. Love the cadence of the rhyme here.

Thank ye kindly, De. :D Cool prompt!
DeleteThis has a lovely rhythm to it. My mom was a teacher; I feel this deeply.
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks, Cris! Glad you could relate!
DeleteBrilliant, Carol. Poor teacher. History was actually my favourite subject so I always listened.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Robbie. History was my least favourite subject! :[
DeleteNice poem, reminds me of my Physics teacher in school.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jay!
DeleteTeachers and students, ships passing each other so often...
ReplyDeleteMy History teacher didn't engage with the students at all. He just wrote facts upon the blackboard for us to copy into our books. Not inspiring in the slightest! :D
