The porch light would blink three times
signaling it was time her girls came inside,
yet boyfriend kisses lingered long into the night.
Three daughters, three boys and three cars,
parked before the house causing worry
that virtues could be stolen.
Blink, blink, blink!
My quadrille is a snapshot of my two sisters and I in the 1960's. Our mother would really do this! Hehe.
Heehee. I love this little slice of memory. I CANNOT imagine having three daughters! One is plenty! ;)

We were all teenagers together at the time. I can understand how our mother must have worried. We all turned out ok, so no harm done! :D
DeleteNicely done, Carol.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim!
Deletethree girls, three times the worry.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Bjorn!
DeleteI like your mother's unintrusive signal! A fun memory and a fun read.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shaun! I eventually married my boyfriend from that time. We're still happily married, with us both now in our 70's. Time surely flies! :D
DeleteWow! Yes, time flies. I ache to feel boredom again!
DeleteI have one girl and two boys. They are young. I’m sure they’ll give me plenty to worry about.😅
ReplyDeleteMaybe Melissa or maybe not. I found the teenage years with my own 2 boys were relatively easy. :D
DeleteI smiled while reading this. They don't call them the terrible teens for nothing!
ReplyDeleteThat's true, Lisa! ;D
